Synthetic WorgBERT for FgNER

For my Bachelor Thesis in Information Science, I developed a synthetic data generation pipeline to create a large-scale dataset for training a domain-specific Named Entity Recognition (NER) model, WorgBERT. By leveraging pre-trained language models and advanced data augmentation techniques, I generated diverse and contextually relevant synthetic sentences that accurately represented the target domain. The WorgBERT model, fine-tuned on this synthetic dataset, demonstrated significant improvements in NER performance compared to standard NER models trained on real-world data. This approach not only addresses the challenges of data scarcity in specialized domains but also showcases the potential of synthetic data in enhancing machine learning applications.
